Writing Circle

        The Writing Circle is a horizontal space for developing fiction, held periodically in Rotterdam. Dedicated to close reading, commentary, and sustained conversation conducted on equal terms, the program offers a structure of support for independent writers. Among the ambitions of the Writing Circle is to create a community and sustainable support system that extends the direct sessions and grows from circle to circle. 

        The program is open to writers of all backgrounds and experience levels, with a soft focus on those based in Rotterdam. Projects may enter at any stage, from early sketches to advanced drafts; the program supports the work as it evolves, with no requirement to complete a full length by the end. The emphasis is on thoughtful development and forward pacing in dialogue with peers.

        All works are shared and discussed in English. At the end of each circle, the program concludes with a publication dedicated to the latest participants and their work reflecting the time they spent together.

        The program was conceived in 2025. Each circle is organized and moderated by Sofia Topi, who guides the discussions and keeps the inevitable chaos productively contained.
